Mr. Splagounias earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and a JD from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law. While at UNH Franklin Pierce, he served as Managing Editor of IDEA: The Law Review for the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property, and he published his article, “Rethinking the Right of Publicity in the Era of Generative AI,” in IDEA Volume 65 Issue 1.
Thomas gained experience as a patent intern at BAE Systems in Nashua, NH, Seurat Technologies in Wilmington, MA, and UNHInnovation in Durham, NH. While at BAE Systems, he worked on patent and trademark matters for advanced defense technologies. In his time at Seurat Technologies, Thomas drafted patent applications for mechanical, optical, and electrical components of area printing laser powder bed fusion systems. At UNHInnovation, he focused on transactional IP practice within the University setting. During his undergraduate studies, he developed a water recirculation system for a water droplet machining device and a prototype controller for the recirculation system. Additionally, at UNH, Thomas was a tight end on the football team and a member of ΠΜΕ National Mathematics Honor Society and ΧΑΣ National College Athlete Honor Society.
